Customizing is the adaptation of software (such as SAP Business One) to the special requirements of the user or customer. The word is also derived from the latter (customer). In SAP Business One, a number of tools are available for customising, which allow extensive adaptation of the software. In the conventional understanding, however, this is not understood to mean customisation by programming. The aim of customising is to adapt the software, but it should remain updateable at all times.
User defined fields (UDFs)
SAP Business One allows you to create user-defined fields (UDFs) that supplement the predefined SAP fields. An example from the article master are fields such as Sales text and Purchase text in German and English. This content is printed directly in sales and purchasing documents and thus offers flexible customisation to company-specific requirements.
User-defined objects (UDQs)
The creation of user-defined queries (UDQs) allows individual analyses to be carried out. In the SAP Business One desktop client, these queries are created using the query generator and managed in the query manager. For web client users, the app User-defined queries are available in the Analytics group on the start page. This allows companies to customise reports to their specific analysis requirements.
User interface customisations
The web client offers extensive options for customising the user interface (UI). Changes to the appearance, optimisation for touch input or the definition of languages make it possible to make use more efficient and user-friendly.
Authorisation processes
SAP Business One allows you to set up authorisation processes for controlling certain business transactions. For example, orders above a certain amount may require authorisation by a line manager. These processes are based on either predefined or user-defined conditions that can be created using queries. This ensures the highest level of control.
Financial report templates
Financial report templates make it possible to customise reports such as the balance sheet or income statement. This function ensures that financial reports are precisely tailored to internal requirements.
Print layouts
The customisation of print layouts is another key benefit of SAP Business One. Standard layouts, for example for quotations, can be customised or supplemented with additional elements such as article images. This increases the informative value and professionalism of the printed documents.
Search configuration
SAP Business One, in particular the version for SAPHANAoffers the possibility to customise the Enterprise Search to the specific requirements of a company. This extended search function significantly improves efficiency when retrieving information.
