The project code is used in many areas of the system to ensure project-related transparency:
- Business partner master data: About the field BP Project a project code can be assigned to a business partner - useful if the partner is only linked to a specific project.
- Vouchers: In sales, purchasing and financial documents, the project code per Document line can be stored. The column is displayed via the form settings.
- Framework agreements: A project code can be set in the document header of a framework agreement - this is automatically adopted, but can be changed if necessary.
- Payments: A project code can also be entered for incoming payments.
- Account entry: It is possible to assign a fixed project code to an account. When posting to this account, the project code is automatically suggested.
Differentiation from similar terms:
In contrast to a Cost unit or Profit centreIn contrast to the project codes, which usually stand for organisational or financial units, the project code is used to assign specific activities to a time-limited project. The project is tracked along actual business transactions.
