In the early days of SAP Business One, it was always emphasised that the functions around the production were more suitable for companies with a simple assembly process. Manufacturers who wanted to use SAP Business One resorted to add-ons for production control. Over time, however, more and more functions were added for manufacturing companies.
SAP Business One is now quite capable of serving manufacturing companies entirely from its standard functions.
Production control at a glance
The user can create production orders directly in the system from the existing order data on the basis of stored parts lists. The automatic comparison with your existing resources and stocks allows you to identify bottlenecks and trigger orders or supplier enquiries as required. The integrated Material Requirements Planning (MRP) ensures a smooth production process. An MRP wizard guides you intuitively through these steps in SAP Business One. At the same time, the production employees also have an overview of the open production orders: Whether these are being produced in stock or for customers and whether sufficient resources are available.
