Material sampling
the Material sampling is the process of removing the required components from the warehouse and making them available for production as part of a manufacturing order.
In SAP Business One, the material issue is processed as a goods issue for production, technically referred to as InventoryGenExit. The system posts the issue of components according to the bill of materials of the production order, debits the associated cost centre, and reduces the stock in the production warehouse. The material issue requires the production order to have the status "Released". There are two issue methods: With manual issue, the warehouse manager explicitly posts the components before production. With the backflush method, the posting occurs automatically upon the production completion report – the system then deducts all components in the bill of materials marked as backflush at once. Quantity deviations due to scrap are possible with both methods.
Demarcation
Material withdrawal differs from the completion posting (goods receipt from production), which books the finished item as an incoming quantity into the finished goods warehouse. Both processes together form the complete production cycle in SAP Business One.
