Of the write-protected mode In SAP Business One, an option is available for the web client that grants users or user groups read-only access to the program.
Furnishings
After installing the required components, the web client practically does not require any further settings. The read-only mode is the only exception. The setting is located under Administration • System Initialization • Permissions • General Permissions. There, you select the user or user group and activate the checkbox „Start the web client in read-only mode“. The setting takes effect as soon as the affected users start the web client the next time.
What remains possible in protected mode
In the write-protected mode, practically all windows in the web client are no longer editable. Users cannot capture or modify data. Only four areas are available for input: users filter data, save new views, use the Enterprise Search, and edit release requests.
Demarcation
The write-protected mode refers to the start of the web client. It is an option under the general permissions. Related terms are authorization (SAP Business One) and web client (SAP Business One).
