AI assistant meets SAP Business One: Two paths out of the Versino AI shop

AI assistants like Claude or Copilot write emails, compile documents, and explain technical terms. But when asked to open a customer account or choose the correct payment method, they remain vague. The reason is simple: they neither know your SAP Business One database nor the practical knowledge that counts in your ERP daily operations.

This is exactly where the Versino KI Shop Yes. It offers two ways to connect SAP Business One with your AI assistant: the SAP-B1-MCP for direct access to your data and the Versino Skills for tested SAP B1 professional knowledge. Both offers can be booked individually or combined.

What exactly is a MCP?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard that allows AI assistants to access external tools and data sources. You can think of it as a plug: the assistant provides the language, the MCP server connects to the system. Both offerings in the Versino KI Shop use this standard. The difference lies in what is waiting at the other end of the plug.

Versino Financial Suite: the added value for your finance department in SAP Business One

Way 1: SAP-B1-MCP for direct data access

The SAP-B1-MCP connects your AI assistant directly to your SAP Business One database. Reading and writing take place via the SAP Business One interface. Service Layer. This allows you to ask questions in normal language, such as about sales, open invoices or master data, and receive the answer from your own system.

Your SAP permissions remain the rule

Each user logs in with their own SAP login credentials. The MCP does not add any custom rights layer: What a user cannot do in SAP Business One is also prohibited by SAP via the AI assistant. Access credentials are not sent to the chat. For complete security, turn the server to read-only mode. Writing tools only work if the server is enabled for that and the SAP user has the permission.

Your data stays in the house

The SAP B1-MCP runs self-hosted in your own infrastructure, on Windows or Linux. Your business data flows only between SAP Business One and your AI assistant. Only license metadata such as edition, version, and number of users are passed to Versino. Operation is even possible without an internet connection for license verification. Alternatively, there is a hosted variant via Cloudiax.

What the AI assistant can do with it

  • Querying data using filters, sorting, and sums
  • Find reference sets, even in case of typing errors or partial matches
  • Run tested, SAP-backed analyses
  • Create or modify records and master data (from PRO)
  • Delete objects and trigger proofing actions, such as canceling, closing, or copying (ENTERPRISE)

Among others, Claude Desktop, Cline, Continue, and Cursor can be connected.

Way 2: Versino Skills for SAP-B1 Professional Knowledge

The content comes from resolved support cases from Versino AG, that is, from real-world practice rather than general internet knowledge. The answers are provided with source attribution. Important note: The skills do not connect to your SAP system. They provide specialized knowledge, not access to your data.
