Of the Goods receipt area is a dedicated storage location or area reserved for the recording and initial storage of newly arriving goods.
In SAP Business One, incoming goods are recorded via Goods Receipt documents. If bin location management is activated, a specific bin location can be assigned as the goods receipt bin location — the system displays the quantity already assigned to this bin location in the corresponding field. Goods Receipt documents can also be created without a Purchase Order, for example, when missing quantities need to be posted during an inventory count. The Goods Receipt document increases the stock at the selected warehouse and bin location. After the putaway, a transfer to the final storage location is made via a stock transfer if necessary.
Demarcation
The goods receipt location is not a separate document type in SAP Business One, but rather a logistical concept that is mapped via the bin location assignment on the incoming document. It differs from the picking zone, which is used for outgoing goods movements.
