Of the SAP-B1-MCP The Versino KI Shop includes a MCP server that connects an AI assistant directly to the SAP Business One database. MCP stands for Model Context Protocol: an open standard through which AI assistants access external tools and data sources.
Functions
Reading and writing run through the service layer. Users ask questions in normal language, such as sales, open invoices, or master data. The answer comes from the own system. The AI assistant queries data using filters, sorting, and sums. It also finds master records even in typing errors or partial matches and performs validated evaluations stored in SAP. In the PRO edition, it adds or modifies records and master data. The ENTERPRISE edition additionally allows deleting objects and document actions such as canceling, closing, or copying. It can be connected to Claude Desktop, Cline, Continue, and Cursor, among others.
Authorizations and operation
Each user logs in with their own SAP login credentials. The MCP does not add any custom rights layer: What a user cannot do in SAP Business One is also rejected by SAP via the AI assistant. The login credentials do not get into the chat. Those who want to be completely sure can switch the server to read-only mode. Writing tools only work if the server is enabled for that and the SAP user has the permission. The server runs self-hosted in its own infrastructure under Windows or Linux. Only license metadata such as edition, version, and number of users are accessed through Versino. The operation even works without an internet connection for license verification. Alternatively, there is a hosted variant via Cloudiax.
Editions (as of October 2026)
BASIC costs 5 €, PRO 20 €, and ENTERPRISE 50 € per user and month, plus VAT and can be cancelled monthly. BASIC only reads basic data, PRO and ENTERPRISE read all data. The number of queries per user and hour is 60 (BASIC), 600 (PRO), and unlimited (ENTERPRISE). The number of rows per query is 50, 1,000, and unlimited.
Demarcation
The SAP B1-MCP provides answers based on its own data. For questions about how something works in SAP Business One, the Versino Skills are intended. They do not connect to the SAP system. Both offerings can be combined.
