A complete, structured list of the components that make up an object and are managed in SAP Business One. The list contains the description, quantity and Volume unitt. The components are referred to as BOM items.
Bills of materials are created in SAP Business One in the modules production and sale used.
Parts lists in production:
- Production parts lists: Represent a finished product that consists of various components. They are used to integrate products into the planning run and to process standard production orders.
- Disassembly parts lists: Break down a finished product into its components by reversing the production process.
- Special parts lists: Allow the spontaneous entry of components in the production order, without predefined parts lists.
Parts lists in sales:
- Sales parts lists: Link articles to a fixed unit that is displayed in the sales document.
- Assembly parts lists: Show in the document only the Parts list items while the components are debited in the background.
- Template parts lists: Define a loose link between items that are displayed as a macro in the document.
The choice of the appropriate BOM type depends on the requirements of the respective process.
