One Cost centre is an SAP B1 controlling object that assigns costs and revenues to an organisational area of responsibility. In SAP B1, multiple cost centre dimensions (1, 2, 3) can be maintained in parallel. The Versino Financial Suite exports cost centres to the DATEV fields KOST1 or COST2 — which dimension is assigned to which field can be freely configured in the VFS export settings.
Context
DATEV has two cost centre fields: KOST1 and KOST2. Since SAP B1 manages up to three cost centre dimensions, the user specifies in the VFS configuration which dimension is transferred to which DATEV field. Alternatively, the SAP B1 project number can also be exported to KOST1 or KOST2. This means the VFS export covers the most common constellations for cost centre allocation in DATEV. Demarcation
The cost centre is not an asset account. It supplements the asset account booking with a controlling dimension, but is not evaluated in the general ledger, but in cost accounting. In the DATEV export, the cost centre is an additional information field – the booking itself remains linked to the asset account.
