Manual depreciation method SAP Business One

The manual depreciation method allows companies to record one-time depreciation on Fixed assets without using fixed calculation methods. In SAP Business One, companies can enter the depreciation amount directly when they create documents for manual depreciation, allowing greater flexibility and control over the depreciation process.

The main features of the manual depreciation method in SAP Business One include:

  1. Direct input of the depreciation amount: Unlike other depreciation methods that use calculation formulas, the manual method allows the depreciation amount to be entered directly when creating manual depreciation documents.
  2. Reduce depreciation base: If the corresponding checkbox is ticked, the manual depreciation affects the calculation of the scheduled depreciation of an asset. If this box is ticked, the depreciation base is automatically reduced by the amount of the manual depreciation, but only for the financial year in question.
  3. Pool for amortisation type: The assignment of a manual Depreciation type to a specific pool enables organised management of depreciation types.

The manual depreciation method is particularly useful for companies that are faced with special depreciation situations that cannot be covered by standardised calculation methods. By implementing the manual depreciation method in SAP Business One, companies gain the flexibility needed to perform accurate depreciation and ensure compliant financial reporting, which ultimately contributes to improved asset management and informed financial decisions.
