SAP S/4HANA Cloud

SAP S/4HANA Cloud plays a central role within the SAP product landscape, as SAP is strategically focussing on Cloud solutions focussed. Customers can choose between various cloud-based solutions, which are available for both purchase and rental.

  • SAP S/4HANA Cloud is available in two main variants as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) or software subscription.
  • SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition, formerly known as Multi Tenant Edition, SAP S/4HANA Cloud, essential edition or Cloud ES, is also known as RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition. This edition is characterised by the shared use of resources (multi-tenancy) and is suitable for customers looking for a standardised cloud solution.
  • SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition, formerly known as Single Tenant Edition, SAP S/4HANA Cloud, extended edition or Cloud EX, is a dedicated environment (single-tenancy) and is suitable for customers who require a more individualised and flexible cloud solution.

All SAP S/4HANA models are based on a standardised data model and a consistent user interface, known as 'One Code Line'. The main differences between the models lie in the degree of standardisation, flexibility and extensibility of the software, despite the different deployment methods (on-premise vs. cloud).
