Stock account (SAP Business One)

In SAP Business One, stock accounts are part of the accounting module used to accurately manage a company's assets and capital positions. At the beginning of a posting periodThe opening balance of each asset and capital type is posted to these accounts at the beginning of the accounting period, usually the financial year. During the accounting period, all additions and disposals are posted to the balance sheet accounts. At the end of the period, the closing balance of the respective balance sheet account is determined by comparing the opening balance and the additions on the one hand and the disposals on the other.

The from the balance sheet derived stock accounts in SAP Business One can be divided into two categories:

  • Asset accounts: These record the company's assets. Examples include bank accounts, cash accounts and investment accounts.
  • Liability accounts: These represent capital items and show the company's sources of financing.
  • The use of stock accounts in SAP Business One enables a detailed and accurate representation of a company's financial situation and supports effective asset and capital management.

With the add-on Versino Financial Suite provides a better overview of the balance sheet accounts. Relevant reports and analyses make it easier to analyse financial data and increase transparency in finance.
