With this valuation method, the cost of an item is calculated based on the serial number or batch. The actual cost of the item is shown when the item is issued.
This means that the profitability can be limited to the respective serial number or Charge can be calculated. This provides a better overview of the profit of the individual items in SAP Business One.
The first example shown in the video is a batch production process in a chocolate factory. As the costs for ingredients and labour change during production and this also changes the profit for each batch of chocolate, cost management for batches is important here.
The second example shown is an electronics company that buys and resells serial number items. These items are often purchased at daily prices. In the new feature in SAP Business One 9.1, the prices for the respective items can be assigned using the serial numbers. This means that the revenue from the fixed prices can be calculated precisely.
