Unfortunately, with SAP Business One, SAP refuses to take part in any comparative tests, studies or platforms where one or more SAP products are compared with competitors in the ERP market. In our opinion, SAP Business One would not stand a bad chance.
The SoftTrend study, for example, is a market overview on the topic of ERP that is constantly kept up to date. Approximately 120 providers from the DACH region take part. Everyone who is looking for and/or wants to compare an ERP must judge the value for themselves. One statement, however, is more generally valid for German SMEs and is 100% in line with what we experience on a daily basis. Nevertheless, the fact that various industry publications have repeatedly highlighted the huge potential of cloud-Although the German-speaking SME sector, at least, is not comfortable with ERP software from the cloud.
Erp Study 2012 - Enterprise Resource Planning Software Systems
Even if demand were to increase rapidly at some point, SAAS-ERP is unlikely to achieve more than a niche existence. At least that's what the figures from the SoftTrend study suggest. Only seven per cent have a high or very high interest in ERP software from the cloud. 15 per cent said they were "less interested". The overwhelming majority of 78 per cent reject cloud ERP.
Good that SAP Business One exists in the down-to-earth version ;)
