Configuring instead of programming: Module ERP for medium-sized companies

Today, no company can do without the support of ERP software. And that is not only good for the manufacturers. The benefits of a good software system are also obvious for the users themselves.

SMEs need individual ERP

The large and diverse market demands a lot of flexibility from companies. Huge amounts of data have to be managed. The right ERP system enables control of the ongoing business and puts the company in a position to always adapt to the current needs of the market. This is a necessity in order to keep up with the great economic competition.

However, the cost of a corresponding system for small and medium-sized enterprises is enormous. The mammoth systems of the large corporations make little sense in these company structures, as a large number of functions simply remain unused. For large companies, it is often easier to rely on a solution that is already fully equipped, as most applications will be used at some point or can be adapted by the in-house IT department. However, in-house IT support is not a given everywhere.
Another possibility for the SMEs is the use of an individual solution. However, this also means costly maintenance contracts and constant support from the provider, as the software is often not updateable after it has been customised.

More function through interfaces

Another approach we take as a provider is that of a modular system. In this case, the company has the option of connecting to an ERP system that has basic functions - such as SAP Business One -, via interfaces connect the applications that are really needed at the time. The advantages are obvious: instead of time-consuming adaptation of individual functions, the appropriate solutions are simply added. However, the help of a consultant is always necessary, who selects the suitable modules with the company. However, the users can then run the system themselves and dispense with cost-intensive IT support. Nevertheless, the system always remains flexible and can be adapted to changes in the market by adding new modules as needed.
