E-invoicing in Germany: How to implement the obligation with SAP Business One

Of the DMS Link — too Proof link — is a URL or reference to an archived document in the document management system (DMS). From v04.2026, the Versino Financial Suite will transfer this link in the DATEV export, allowing the tax office to access the original digital receipt directly from DATEV without having to search manually in the DMS.

Context

The DMS link is saved in a user-defined field at the journal entry level in SAP Business One. The VFS-DATEV export reads this field and enters the link into the configured free text or additional field of the DATEV template. If the journal entry field is empty, fallback logic accesses the CANDIS field at the document level. The DMS link significantly reduces the manual search effort for the tax consultancy during annual financial statements and operating audits. (Source: V04.2026_V2, Ch. 4.1.2, pp. 9–11)

Demarcation

The DMS link is not a permanently embedded document in the DATEV export; it is a reference. The document itself remains in the DMS, and DATEV only stores the access address. Therefore, the link's accessibility depends on the availability of the DMS system.
