An IBAN is a sequence of a maximum of 34 alphanumeric characters and is made up of a combination of the following elements:
- The country code of the bank (ISO code)
- Two check digits
- Country-specific account number (e.g. consists of the bank sort code and the account number in Germany, or bank sort code, account number and control key in France).
