In order to enable fast and flexible access to resources on demand, the "on-demand" provisioning model is required. This term is predominantly used in the ERP environment for applications from the cloud that are available without the need to set up one's own IT systems. The main reasons for the increasing prevalence of these on-demand models are short contract terms, low initial investment and high scalability.
