Responsive Design refers to a user interface that responds to the available space and rearranges its elements according to the width of the display. This ensures that the control elements remain readable even in confined spaces.
Example: Web client from SAP Business One
The web client of SAP Business One is responsive. Even in a very small browser window, the controls remain clearly readable. The web client arranges the elements so that they make the best use of the available space. For example, the tiles are no longer arranged in four rows but only in two. In input forms, fields may no longer appear side by side but rather side by side.
Therefore, the position of a tile on the start page is not fixed. The program dynamically assigns the tiles according to the browser width. The user only changes the order within a group.
Benefits of use
The responsive interface optimally utilizes any device on which a web browser is running. The web client works on a smartphone with limited space as well as on a desktop computer with a large screen. Its strength is especially evident on mobile devices such as laptops, tablets, or smartphones.
