Feature Package 2608 (FP26608) brings several new apps to the SAP Business One Web Client. They concern internal reconciliation, the payment run, the calendar function, project management, human resources and process maps. This article describes what changes for users in their daily work.

FP2608 Internal reconciliation: Manual and automatic in the web client

For business partners and general ledger accounts, the Web Client custom apps for internal reconciliation. They cover both manual and automatic reconciliation.

During manual reconciliation, the user can use the „Create reconciliation“ function“ Adjustment postings carry out directly. Incoming payments can thus be recorded and reconciled with open items without leaving the app.

For bulk processing, the user sets predefined rules. The system then automatically reconciles the items in the background according to these rules.

FP2608 Payment Run: Three Phases from Selection to Execution

During the selection phase, the user defines the criteria: due date ranges, settlement discount options and the relevant business partners. The system then generates a recommendation proposal. In this proposal, the user can manually adjust discounts or add additional payment lines that were not included in the proposal. In the third phase, execution, the user processes the payments immediately or schedules them for a later date.

The process takes place in a consolidated view, in which the user reviews the details step by step.

FP2608 Calendar: Four views and drag-and-drop assignment

For the coordination of activities in CRM, service and human resources, there is a new calendar app. It offers four display options: day, week, working week and month.

Using drag-and-drop, the user can move activities between users or time slots. Activities can thus not only be rescheduled, but also assigned directly to another user. A legend displays status and priority by colour. Filters for business partners or projects narrow down the view if required.

FP2608 Project Management: Subprojects and Financial Overview

In project management, initiatives can be broken down into sub-projects. A summary view displays costs, budgets and open items for the main project as well as all sub-projects. This provides the project manager with an overview of the financial status of the overall project without having to access individual sub-projects separately.

FP2608 Human Resources: Relationship mapping and absences

There is a new graphical display in the employee master data that visualises hierarchies and reporting structures. From this display, the user can directly view existing timesheets or create new ones.

Additionally, for absences, a copy-and-paste function can be used for multiple days instead of having to record each day individually.

Process maps: External links and custom objects

The process maps in the web client can be extended with external URLs. The user can use this to integrate links to external portals directly into the process diagram.

Furthermore, custom objects are supported for creation and management. Proprietary company functions can thus be integrated into standard processes.

Conclusion: Everything on the web

Feature Package 2608 extends the Web Client with apps for internal coordination, payment runs, the calendar function, project and personnel management, and process maps. What the new features have in common is that processes that were previously manual or spread across multiple steps are now mapped as dedicated, guided apps in the Web Client.
