the Availability check (Available-to-Promise, ATPis a function in SAP Business One that checks in real time whether an item is available in sufficient quantity for the desired delivery date.
Functionality
When recording a sales receipt, SAP Business One automatically checks the current Stock, open orders and quantities already committed. The availability check takes into account:
- Current stock: Physically existing goods in the warehouse
- Reserved quantities Stock already allocated to other orders
- Expected arrivals: Open orders and production orders
- Replacement time Supplier lead time for repeat orders
Use in SAP Business One
The availability check can be configured as a warning or a hard block. In the event of a shortfall, the system suggests alternative measures – such as a later delivery date or a partial delivery. This helps medium-sized companies to reliably meet delivery commitments and avoid overselling.
Practical tip
Activate the availability check in the document settings to identify bottlenecks as early as order entry and to counteract them proactively.
