Honeywell and SAP have partnered to deliver powerful voice technology that more than one million distribution centre users already rely on. With voice control, employees can work more productively, accurately and safely with SAP Business One in the warehouse and logistics.
Controlling warehouse and logistics with speech
To this end, Honeywell has signed an OEM agreement with SAP to integrate and offer its "Guided Work Solutions" as a add on for SAP Business One was signed.
The Vocollect ? Voice solutions from Honeywell is a software solution designed specifically for distribution centres, maintenance and inspection and retail environments. With Vocollect technology, you can optimise the work of warehouse employees and logistics by providing voice-enabled workflow processes in 60 countries and 35 languages worldwide. More than 80 per cent of the leading supermarket chains in North America already use Honeywell's voice technology.
Use of language in warehouse and logistics
The use of voice control in SAP Business One can take place on a wide variety of levels.
Tasks such as picking, receiving, put-away, packing and shipping are expected to be made easier through the use of voice control. For example, when SAP Business One receives a work order, Honeywell's Guided Work Solutions translates that order into a series of optimised interactive voice commands so that employees can use their eyes and hands fully on their tasks.
Android platform for warehouse and logistics
The software is compatible with a wide range of hardware. Not only Honeywell mobile devices are included, but also other Android mobile devices. The Android-platform also supports multiple interfaces such as voice, scanning and Keyboard.
When - from which version
Despite the widespread press release and greeting message from SAP Senior Vice President Luis Murguia on the Honeywell website, it is not yet known when and with which version of SAP Business One the solution for warehousing and logistics will be delivered.
It will also be exciting to see how open the solution will be for the various requirements of SAP Business One customers and their logistics. From our experience with Scanner-based solutions for warehouses and logistics, the needs and processes are very different.
