Cockpit (SAP Business One)

Versino Financial Suite

That Cockpit In SAP Business One, there is a dedicated user interface that the user can customize to their liking within certain parameters. The components of this interface are widgets.

The task comes to the user

Without the cockpit, the user decides for themselves what they work on next. They may overlook urgent or important requirements in the process: The user gets down to the task. Cockpits and their widgets, on the other hand, show what is currently being done, which areas of responsibility or information are currently changing, and how the tasks should be prioritized. Cockpits and widgets therefore ensure that the task reaches the user.

Cockpit in Microsoft SQL installations

SAP Business One is available as a Microsoft SQL-based installation and as a SAP HANA-based installation. The operation and available elements of the cockpit differ in some respects. In the Microsoft SQL version, you select the option „Cockpit“ in the „General Settings“ window (under Administration • System Initialization) on the „Cockpit“ tab. This allows any user to activate their own cockpit. This is done in the „Extras“ menu, entry “Cockpit,” with the “Activate my cockpit” checkbox. To complete the activation, the user closes SAP Business One and opens it again. After that, five standard cockpits are available to them. The self-organized user menu is visible only in the classic view, not when the cockpit is active.

Fiori cockpit in SAP HANA installations

The SAP HANA-based version offers the Fiori cockpit. You activate it under Administration • System Initialization • General Settings on the „Cockpit“ tab. There you also set the interval at which the system updates the values in the cockpit. The setting is specified in seconds; the default value is 300 seconds. Analogously to the SQL version, there are preconfigured cockpits for common task groups: Finance (Finance), Sales (Sales), Purchase (Purchasing) and Inventory (Inventory).

Demarcation

The cockpit is the surface, a widget (SAP Business One) is a component within it. A dashboard is a widget class within the cockpit. The „Customer 360“ evaluation, on the other hand, is an extended dashboard from the Pervasive Analytics Designer and is only available in SAP HANA installations. The VFS Financial Cockpit is another product. Related terms are dashboard (SAP Business One), Pervasive Analytics Dashboard and Key Performance Indicator (KPI).
