E-invoicing in Germany: How to implement the obligation with SAP Business One

Pervasive analytics This is SAP Business One's HANA-based, built-in analytics tool. It generates KPI tiles and interactive dashboards directly on the company database views, without the need for a separate BI tool or data externalisation. Users are shown current key figures (cash flow, open receivables, revenue by product group, 360-degree customer view) in their cockpit and can drill down into detail views or native B1 forms with a single click.

Context

Pervasive Analytics is part of the HANA edition of SAP Business One and controls the cockpit elements under Cockpit → Widget Gallery → Pervasive Analytics. KPIs are derived from Calculation Views or custom queries; target values and colour rules can be defined per KPI. Dashboards combine multiple KPIs with charts, pivot tables, and optional drill-downs. The tool can merge native B1 data with external sources (e.g., payroll) in a unified view. Within the cockpit, tiles can be placed, rearranged using drag-and-drop, or removed via a delete icon; manual changes must be saved to retain the user interface upon the next login. Pervasive Analytics is supplemented by pre-built role-based cockpits (e.g., Finance Cockpit), which consist of combinations from the widget gallery and serve as a starting point.

Demarcation

Pervasive Analytics does not replace Crystal Reports: where pixel-perfect printing, strict formatting and voucher output are required, Crystal remains the tool. Pervasive Analytics is also not synonymous with Crystal. Dashboard Design – this is a legacy tool for static dashboards, which in modern installations is increasingly being replaced by Pervasive Analytics. And it is not a substitute for true enterprise BI solutions like SAP Analytics Cloud or Power BI, which are connected in layers above via views or service layer endpoints when consolidation required across several systems and advanced data modelling.
