The relationship map is an interactive, graphical representation in SAP Business One that shows the relationships between a Business object and all associated base, target and reference documents.

In the SME environment, the linking plan serves as a central analytical tool because it supports process transparency and the traceability of business transactions. It is displayed as an interactive flow chart and visualises the entire document chain, for example from the quotation to the order and delivery to the outgoing invoice. It also includes processes in the Purchasing, sales, service and in production and trains, for example Production orders with all associated transactions.
It can be accessed directly via the action bar of the respective business object or alternatively by right-clicking via the context menu and selecting the „Link plan“ entry. Within a fixed layout, symbols and coloured borders indicate the document status: a green symbol indicates a closed document, while a yellow/orange border indicates an open document with an imminent due date. In addition, a blue marking emphasises the currently open document, while a light blue border indicates document references.
In the header area, circular diagrams show the status distribution per column so that users can quickly understand the overall status of a process. They can also zoom the link diagram, switch to full-screen mode and double-click to jump directly to the source document. They can also use the toolbar to control whether referenced documents of the main object are shown or hidden. This allows both compact and very detailed views of the document flow to be displayed.
The documents are usually linked using functions such as "Copy to" or "Copy from". However, „Copy to“ does not transfer any reference links to the target document, as these only apply to the original document for which they were created. When duplicating a document, however, the document references can optionally be transferred from the original document so that the traceability of the processes is also maintained here.
In contrast to the isolated display of a single Document the link diagram visualises the entire process chain of a business transaction in a consistent flowchart. It also goes beyond a single document reference, as it visualises all base, target and reference documents of a business object together and bundles their status in a central overview.
