Master data is long-term, status-orientated information about central company objects such as Customers, Delivery, article or employees that are used in SAP Business One for all business processes.
In SAP Business One, master data forms the foundation of all business processes. It comprises centralised information about business partners, articles, employees, assets and other company resources. Unlike transaction data, it is not created continuously, but exists over a longer period of time and is maintained and updated in a targeted manner. Proper maintenance of master data increases data quality, improves process automation and significantly reduces sources of error.
Integration into business processes
Master data is used in almost every business process - for example when creating sales orders, ordersinvoices or stock movements. Fields such as customer numbers, item descriptions or terms of payment are taken directly from the master data.
