SAP acquires Concur for €6.5 billion

After the costly acquisitions of recent years, SAP is making its next major purchase. In addition to the human resources software Sucessfactor for 3.4 billion euros and the trading platform for 4.2 billion euros, SAP now wants to take over the provider of corporate software for travel management and travel expense processing Concur for a total of 6.5 billion euros. This makes it the most expensive takeover in the company's history.
Until now, SAP only made a small part of its turnover in the cloud-business. The acquisitions not only expand this offering, they are also expected to double turnover in this area in the coming years. Concur alone is expected to generate annual cloud sales of over 540 million euros.
