SAP Business One includes Bank bookings all transactions relating to the company's bank accounts. They are an essential part of financial accounting and contribute to the precise management of payments and bank movements.

Types of bank bookings
- incoming payments:
- Payments from customers for goods delivered or services rendered.
- Outgoing payments:
- Payments to suppliers for goods or services received.
- Other bank transactions:
- Interest charges (debit and credit interest), charges, account management fees, overdraft commissions and other bank-related items.
Functionality
- Automatic generation:
- Bank bookings are processed by the payment assistant or the Bank statement processing automatically generated.
- Manual recording:
- Manual incoming and outgoing payments can be made directly in the bank processing be entered.
- Allocation:
- They are assigned to the booking category "Bank booking" and recognised in the corresponding general ledger accounts.
Important aspects of bank bookings
- house bank accounts:
- Corporate bank accounts must be created as house bank accounts in SAP Business One.
- Payment methods:
- Various payment methods such as bank transfer or cheque can be configured.
- Bank statement processing:
- Import of account statements with automatic comparison of the transactions and open items contained.
- Bank charges:
- Can be entered either directly when posting payments or as a separate journal entry.
- Interest charges:
- Interest is usually recognised separately as a journal entry.
