Of the Add mode In SAP Business One, a window mode is available where the user can add new data records. Each window can be used in two modes: the add mode and the search mode.
Functionality
The button at the bottom left of the window shows the current mode: Add or Search. A window opens either in Add mode or Search mode. This depends on whether the user is more likely to add new data in this window or to search for existing data. Movement data such as customer orders, service requests, or journal bookings open in the Add mode. Master data such as article master data or business partner master data, on the other hand, open in the Search mode.
Some windows remain in the addition mode after being added. In the Journal booking window, the user can immediately book the next journal booking. Similarly, the User window remains in the addition mode, so that additional users can be added immediately.
Switching to the Add mode
The user can switch to the add mode in three ways: via the button in the toolbar, via the Data • Add menu, or with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+A.
Data loss during switching
Before each entry, it is worth taking a look at the current mode. If the user switches from the Add mode to the Search mode, all data entered just now is lost.
Demarcation
In search mode (SAP Business One), the user searches for existing data sets instead of creating new ones. The change in the button from OK to Update is also distinct from this: If the user changes a field in an existing data set, the button displays Update instead of OK at the bottom left. SAP Business One recognizes that the user wants to change the data set. Clicking OK or Cancel closes the record window.
