On Editable field In SAP Business One, there is a field whose content the user can store in any number of languages. Typical examples are article data such as description, foreign language description, barcode, and the Notes tab.
Deployment
SAP Business One prints the translated article data in the language on the documents selected in the General tab on the business partner's account. However, the print layout must also use this function. Print layouts are a further topic that the user should discuss with their consultant. Editable fields are also available in the account ledger. The same applies to printing these translations: the supervisor will advise on this.
Furnishings
First, the multi-language support must be active. To do this, under Administration • System Initialization • Firm Details, the Basic Initialization tab, select the Multi-language Support checkbox.
For the actual translation, the user clicks the field with the right mouse button and selects the option Translate in the context menu. The Translations window opens. There, he selects the language from the value list and enters the translation in the right column. Each additional language follows in the next line. In the transaction account, the user instead clicks on the globe icon next to the field and enters the translations in the table that opens.
Labelling
SAP Business One can make editable fields visible. To do this, in the View • Display Tags menu, activate the entry Editable Fields. A stylized globe then marks each editable field. If the globe is empty, no translation is available yet. If the globe is filled in, a translation already exists.
Demarcation
The editable field concerns the content of a data record. The forms settings (SAP Business One) control which fields a window displays and in what order.
