Company data (SAP B1)

Company data are central master data in SAP Business One that contain basic information on the legal, administrative and economic identity of a company. They serve as the starting point for all business processes in the system.


SAP Business One Finance Training

Contents of the company data:

  • Company name, address, country
  • Tax authority, tax number
  • System currency and local currency
  • Contact information in national and foreign language
  • Optional settings for General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Locations (e.g. branches or warehouses)
  • Parameters for foreign trade (e.g. Intrastat declarations)

Administration in SAP Business One:

  • Access via: Administration → System initialisation → Company details
  • Tabs in the window Company details:
    • General: Contact information, languages
    • Basic initialisation: Local currency, system currency, GDPR option
    • Accounting data: Control parameters, report formats
    • Locations: Management of company locations

Special features:

  • the System currency is after the first booking no longer changeable.
  • Of the Company name and the database identifier are displayed in the header area of the web client.
  • the Company database stores all relevant master and transaction data of an organisation.

Technical integration:

  • The object Company in the DI API represents an SAP B1 company database.
  • CompanyInfo is the associated structure for initial parameters.
  • Of the CompanyService allows programmatic maintenance of company details.

Significance:

  • Incorrect or incomplete company data leads to problems with reports, notifications and bookings.
  • The correct configuration is essential for the function of Reports, VAT returns, Intrastat and analyses.
  • Data protection settings support GDPR compliance.
