Borrowed capital (SAP Business One)

In SAP Business One, borrowed capital is recognised under the Liabilities of the chart of accounts. The organisation and management of these financial obligations encompass various aspects that are crucial for clear accounting and analysis.

1. chart of accounts and balance sheet structure

Borrowed capital is categorised under "Liabilities" in the chart of accounts. Within this structure, the Balance sheet accounts is divided into main levels, with "Liabilities" playing a central role. This categorisation not only provides clarity, but also enables a precise presentation of financial obligations in the company's balance sheet. The categorisation helps companies to maintain an overview of liabilities such as loans, supplier invoices and other debts.

2. reconciliation accounts as a connecting element

SAP Business One offers the option of using reconciliation accounts to link subledger accounts such as supplier accounts to the general ledger. An input account is used as standard for suppliers. The balance of these accounts represents the totals of the vendors and flows directly into the balance sheet report. This mechanism ensures that subsidiary and Main books always remain synchronised - an important basis for error-free accounting.
