Lowest value principle (SAP Business One)

A method of balance sheet valuation of inventory items whereby current assets are valued at the lower of cost or net realisable value.

Example:
An item can only be sold at 40% of its original value. A stock valuation is carried out which brings the value of the item to its current value.
