Of the SAP Business One Client is an executable application that enables access to the functions of SAP Business One. This application can be installed both on a terminal server and in a Citrix environment. A modern alternative to this is the Web clientwhich provides the same business logic and core processes in a new user interface. Both clients can be used in parallel, allowing companies to flexibly decide which access is optimal for specific requirements.
Use and requirements of the web client
For the best user experience, it is recommended to use the web client on a desktop computer or tablet with the following web browsers:
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Apple Safari (Mac and iPad).
Parallel login in both the traditional client and the web client is possible. The corresponding company database must be selected manually when logging in to the web client. Changing the Database in the traditional client does not affect the web client and vice versa.

The web client offers several advantages that make it an attractive choice:
- Platform neutralityAccess is possible from almost any device.
- Resource-saving processingAll data processing takes place on the server side, which reduces the requirements for end devices.
- Mobile report distributionThis function is immediately ready for use and supports the flexibility of mobile working methods.
Important considerations for the web client
When introducing and using the web client, a number of aspects should be taken into account:
- LicensingSAP Business One Web Client requires a professional or restricted licence.
- CompatibilityThe web client is platform-neutral and optimised for various devices and browsers. At the time of writing this text Firefox is recommended as the most suitable browser. In the future Safari and Microsoft Edge are fully supported.
- Additional productsMany third-party extensions and add-ons are not yet fully compatible with the web client.
