Almost like the German Chancellor's New Year's speech, a video on SAP products for small and medium-sized enterprises appears on YouTube at the end of the year. Rainer Zinow (SVP Product Management Small and Mid Sized Enterprises SAP SE) gives an outlook on SAP Business One 2021.
Central part of the SAP product portfolio
A tradition has been established when it comes to the ERP for SMEs: the denial. Ever since SAP Business One has been on the market, certain sources have been rumouring that the ERP solution is about to be replaced. And this year, too, these rumours are being dispelled. "SAP Business One is a central part of the SAP product portfolio" is what we hear from SAP. However, the best argument against the swansongs is success. Over 70,000 installations in 170 countries speak for themselves.

SAP Business One 2021 - Web Client
The new web client was launched in 2020 with version 10. While the focus was mainly on the functions around the sales and saleother areas are now also accessible via the client for the browser. The web client serves both variants: SAP Business One for HANA and the MS SQL-based version.
SAP Business One 2021 - keeping pace with all regulatory changes
With currently 50 localisations, it is a challenge under normal circumstances to keep up with all the legal changes in the respective countries. In times of Covid-19 efforts must be stepped up once again. Numerous states also provoke interventions in integrated ERP software with interventions in tax law or similar. More and more adaptations are necessary around the exchange of data with authorities in the context of digitalisation. This concerns, for example, formats such as the X-bill or EU PEPPOL. But Brexit also brings some changes.
Technical further development
Numerous new and further developments are also planned for SAP Business One. Microsoft Office 365 is to be integrated more deeply. Existing SAP services will also be available for SAP Business One. For example, machine learning services for invoice recognition (integration in the Document Information Extraction API). Also on the Integration Framework is being diligently developed further.
