Those who want to establish the basis for a valuation for IT companies, but also (IT-)products, arrives at GARTNER not past. Whoever is in the top right corner of the analysis quadrants at the market research company is ennobled. SAP Business One ended up with GARTNER for the SMEs area in a top position.
GARTNER has now launched under the label FrontRunner has launched a new series of analyses that focus entirely on the needs of SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises). The consulting company aims to provide concrete assistance for the selection of Business software for the SME sector.
In this new series, ERPs were initially tested for their suitability in manufacturing companies. And at the top right in the GARTNER quadrants, SAP Business One!
With the GARTNER FrontRunner analysis, hundreds of products are put under the microscope. Only 20 to 25 make it into the list of FrontRunners designated frontrunners in the quadrants.
The four areas in the SME quadrant
The study on the ERP software for medium-sized manufacturing companies divides the front-line solutions into 4 areas:
- Upper right = Leader: These are strong products in all areas. They offer a wide range of functions for a wide range of customers. These products are considered very valuable by customers from the SME sector.
- Top left = Masters: Masters focus strongly on certain key features or market segments. These ERP packages are therefore suitable for SMEs that find their core requirements in the specific orientations of the software.
- Bottom right = Pacesetters: Although this ERP software shines with a range of powerful functions, it is rated as expensive.
Bottom left = Contenders: These ERP solutions have been highly valued for their specialised capabilities. They are aimed at companies that are willing to pay a relatively high price for very specific requirements.
SAP Business One ahead of many other SME providers
SAP Business One is at the top of the leader's group. In the process, it has attracted some illustrious names in the industry (ABASOracle, Microsoft...) were relegated to second place. This was helped not least by top ratings from surveyed users.
