Unfortunately, with SAP Business One, SAP refuses to take part in any comparative tests, studies and platforms where one or more SAP products are compared with competitors in the ERP market. In our opinion, SAP Business One would not stand a bad chance.
The SoftTrend study, for example, is a constantly updated market overview on the topic of ERP. Around 120 providers from the DACH region take part. Anyone who is looking for and/or wants to compare an ERP must judge its value for themselves. However, one statement is rather generally valid for German SMEs and corresponds 100% with what we experience on a daily basis. Nevertheless, the fact that various industry publications repeatedly emphasise the huge potential of cloud-applications, German-speaking SMEs at least are not happy with ERP software from the cloud.

Even if demand were to rise rapidly at some point, SAAS-ERP is unlikely to be more than a niche product. At least, that's what the figures from the SoftTrend study suggest. Only seven percent have a high or very high interest in ERP software from the cloud. Fifteen percent stated „less high interest.“ The overwhelming majority of 78 percent reject cloud ERP.
