For some time now, some SAP Business One users have been missing a tool that is compatible with previous SAP Business One versions was delivered: the XL reporter. With this one could on the data basis of SAP Business One, Excel reports create and manage and distribute within SAP B1.
This tool was a blessing, especially for those who struggle with SQL queries. Long-serving SAP Business One consultants shed many a tear for the reporting toolbox, not least because many good report templates have been gathering dust in a drawer since the "disappearance" of the XL reporter.
Perhaps one reason why SAP discontinued support for the XL-Reporter was that it was not an in-house development. The technical capacities of SAPHANA a completely different calibre. A pity - nevertheless.
However, the (former) creators of the XL reporter have provided a replacement themselves. BI360 is the name of the successor product and is positioned as a comprehensive reporting solution for a company. The name already indicates that the XL-Reporter has been transformed from a reporting tool into a reporting solution. Business Intelligence Suite has expanded.
In addition to the topics already addressed by the XL reporter, such as financial, sales and performance reports, the BI360 reporter now also covers topics such as budgeting, consolidation and forecasting taken up. Web reports and dashboards can now also be generated. Furthermore, additional data sources can also be visualised with SAP Business One data.
Naturally, the Manufacturer Solver not only on the SAP Business One market, but sees itself much more as an open reporting tool.
There are now also a number of competitors on the market that help prepare and visualise SAP B1 data. But perhaps it is still worth taking a closer look at the successor to XL-Reporter, especially for "Excel-oriented" Business One users.
