That Interim account 9999 is a technical suspense account that the Versino Financial Suite uses for DATEV export of complex journal entries. It meets the DATEV requirement that each journal entry must contain exactly one unique account-offsetting account assignment.
Context
If a journal entry in SAP Business One contains multiple line items on different accounts, the entry cannot be mapped as a single DATEV journal entry. The VFS resolves this problem by booking each line item individually against the interim account 9999. This creates a separate, DATEV-compliant journal entry for each line item. The balance of interim account 9999 is exactly zero at the end of each posting sequence resolved in this way – the account is therefore accounting transparent and leaves no open items. Demarcation
The interim account 9999 is not a regular ledger account with permanent balances. It is purely a technical transit account in the VFS export process and does not appear in the company's ongoing accounting.
