Ancillary banking costs

Ancillary bank charges, also known as bank fees, are a component of bank processing in SAP Business One. They include costs incurred in connection with bank transactions, such as transfer fees, account management fees or bank charges. Interest charges.

Important aspects of ancillary banking costs:

1. automatic booking

  • Ancillary bank charges can be posted automatically as part of bank statement processing.
  • The prerequisite for this is that the G/L account determination a specific bank fee account is stored.
  • The amount specified in the "Fee" field of the account statement is automatically posted to the corresponding account.

2. manual booking

  • Alternatively, incidental bank charges can be recognised manually, for example for Incoming and outgoing payments.
  • This enables flexible handling when automatic processes are not effective.

3. example: bank charges in payment transactions

  • In the window "Payment methods" a "Bank fee" field is available in which the fee rate can be entered.
  • The amount entered is automatically saved in the corresponding Journal entry which minimises the susceptibility to errors.

4. account determination

  • The account to which incidental bank charges are posted must be entered in the G/L account determination be defined.
  • Correct allocation ensures that bank charges are recognised transparently and comprehensibly.

5. analysis and reports

  • SAP Business One offers various reports for analysing ancillary banking costs.
  • One example is the Bank reconciliation reportwhich helps to monitor bank charges in detail and identify deviations.
  • With the add-on Versino Financial Suite the analysis, overview and reporting of ancillary banking costs in SAP Business One are optimised through greater transparency and extended evaluation options.
