The next upgrade the version 8.8 is already on the horizon. (Something like this is then called a minor release). Among other things, the upgrade Wizard and simplified the process of improving the software. Work will also continue on the user interface and allow even more personalised settings.

As announced, 8.81 will also include Web 2.0 functionalities such as the integration of Twitter and Facebook find.

New BusinessObjects functions

What will happen with the new BusinessObjects functions will be clear in the second quarter of 2010. Real-time analyses via Crystal Reports and Xcelcius will then be available in several language versions. However, it is not yet known what the licence models for these offers will look like.

Mobile access

Mobile access via Blackberry and iPhone is also due for delivery with version 8.81, as is the expansion of the remote maintenance platform for SAP partners.

Business One 9.0

The next major version will be released in 2012, SAP Business One 9.0 to the market. New integrated help functions, as well as further integration of BusinessObjects, are planned. The further integration of the web world is also a topic. Partner extensions will play a major role. The focus here is on the „cloud„, which then leads to so-called Hybrid systems which are to obtain some of their functions from the on-site installation and others from the web.

All that is currently known about Business One 10 is that it is scheduled to go on sale in 2014.

Maintenance and support

The new versions, i.e. major releases, receive support for three years. The minor releases, on the other hand, directly replace their predecessors. In addition, minor changes and enhancements (patches) are made available every four to twelve weeks.
