Beneficiary period (SAP B1)

The period in which the Special depreciation of an asset is legally permissible.

Of the Beneficiary period in SAP Business One refers to the period in which companies can apply special depreciation to a fixed asset. This special depreciation makes it possible to depreciate the value of an asset more quickly than is provided for by the regular depreciation rules.

E-invoicing in Germany: How to implement the obligation with SAP Business One

In SAP B1, you can define the period in years for the special depreciation and also specify the maximum percentage for the special depreciation. The system then calculates the special depreciation based on these parameters. Special depreciation is usually applied in the first period of the period of benefit.

Example:

  • A company buys a machine for €60,000.
  • The useful life of the machine is 5 years (60 months).
  • The period of eligibility is set at 2 years, with a maximum percentage of 30 %.

the Special depreciation is performed in the first month of the year in the first two years, provided that the company's accounting periods are monthly. This is done additional to normal amortisation.
