On Indexed account is in SAP Business One a G/L account, which Index valuations (e.g. inflation-related adjustments to trade balances) is taken into account. Only Indexed accounts are recognised and adjusted for such remeasurements.

The option "Indexed account" can be set in the account master.

By default are all Subsequent accounts (sub-accounts) of SAP Business One are defined as indexed.

If the checkbox "Indexed account" is activated, the checkbox "Cash account" automatically deactivated.
Exclusion rule:
An account can not at the same time as Indexed account and as Cash account be marked. SAP Business One ensures that these two properties are mutually exclusive in order to guarantee a consistent evaluation logic.
Exemplary application:
With a Balance sheet valuation at the end of the period all indexed accounts adjusted on the basis of a valuation index - this typically concerns Asset or expense accounts, but not cash accounts such as cash registers or bank accounts.
