Document Information Extraction (DIE) is an innovative service from SAP that enables the automation of document processing. Using advanced technologies, it is able to automatically read and extract content from digital and scanned document files. In combination with SAP Business One, as well as the SAPHANA optimised version, this service offers a significant increase in efficiency by eliminating the manual processing of receipts, such as invoices.
Integration into SAP Business One is achieved via the Electronic Document Service and a special API, which creates a seamless connection to the Document Information Extraction service. The main functionality of the service includes reading incoming invoices from the PDF and JPG files received. The extracted, structured information is then transferred to SAP Business One in the form of JSON files, where parked incoming invoices generated.
The service is activated and controlled via various options in the document settings under the Document Information Extraction protocol. This offers users flexible control over the use of the service according to the specific requirements of their organisation.
As a cloud-based service, Document Information Extraction is provided via the SAP cloud Platform. The Document Information Extraction Services are licensed separately from the SAP Business One licences.
