Almost like the German Chancellor's New Year's address, a video on SAP products for SMEs appears on YouTube at the end of the year. Rainer Zinow (SVP Product Management Small and Mid Sized Enterprises SAP SE) provides an outlook on SAP Business One 2021.
Central part of the SAP product portfolio
A tradition has been established when it comes to the ERP for small and medium-sized businesses: the denial. Since SAP Business One has been on the market, certain sources have been predicting that the ERP solution is about to be discontinued. And this year, these rumours are being put to rest. „SAP Business One is a central part of the SAP product portfolio“ is what you hear from SAP. The best argument against the death knells, however, is success. Over 70,000 installations in 170 countries speak for themselves.

SAP Business One 2021 - Web client
The new web client was launched in 2020 with version 10. While the focus was mainly on the function relating to sales and saleother areas are now also accessible via the client for the browser. The web client serves both versions: SAP Business One for HANA and the MS SQL-based version.

SAP Business One 2021 - keeping pace with all legal changes
With the current 50 localisations, it is a challenge under normal circumstances to keep up with all the legal changes in the respective countries. In times of Covid-19 efforts must be stepped up once again here. Numerous countries are also provoking interventions in integrated ERP software with interventions in tax law or similar. More and more adjustments are becoming necessary for data exchange with authorities in the context of digitalisation. This concerns, for example, formats such as X-bill or EU PEPPOL. But Brexit will also bring some changes.
Technical further development

Numerous new and further developments are also planned for SAP Business One. Microsoft Office 365 is to be more deeply integrated. Existing SAP services will also be available for SAP Business One. For example, machine learning services for invoice recognition (integration into the Document Information Extraction API). The Integration Framework is being diligently developed further.
