Of the Accounting record In the context of a VFS DATEV export, the smallest exportable data unit is a single record, which precisely describes one account-counter-account relationship. DATEV expects a unique assignment of account and counter-account per posting entry.
Context
Complex journal entries in SAP Business One map multiple lines to different accounts. Because DATEV only accepts one account-offset account pair per posting, such a journal entry cannot be represented in a single posting. The Versino Financial Suite solves this problem with the interim account 9999: Each line of the complex journal entry is posted individually against the interim account 9999, so that the balance of this account is zero at the end of each posting sequence. This results in multiple individual postings for the DATEV export from a complex journal entry. (Source: V04.2026_V2, Ch. 4.1.8, p. 14)
Demarcation
The booking entry does not equate to a journal entry. A journal entry can generate multiple booking entries if it is based on several accounts. This difference is the reason why interim account 9999 exists in the VFS-DATEV export.
