Account abbreviation (SAP Business One)

Versino Financial Suite

On Document abbreviation In SAP Business One, a double-digit internal abbreviation for the type of document (transaction) that has caused a journal entry. Example: BE stands for entry invoice.

Functionality

The Journal Booking window displays the voucher code in the Source field. Next to this field is an orange arrow. With the arrow, the user calls up the voucher that is behind the journal booking. This does not work for journal bookings from an opening booking. Likewise, it does not work for journal bookings that the user has created directly in the Journal Booking window.

Invoice codes also appear in reports. In the Cost Item report, the column "Origin" indicates JE for a journal entry (English Journal Entry), RE for an output invoice, and BE for an entry invoice. In the web client, the invoice codes remain relevant; the keyboard commands do not.

Common abbreviations

Common document codes include: QU offer, AU customer order, LS delivery, RE outgoing invoice, AG outgoing voucher, RU sales return, PO order, EL incoming goods (order), BE incoming invoice, BK incoming voucher, BL incoming payment, EZ deposit, JE journal booking, JR journal reconciliation, IM inventory transfer, LT inventory booking, MR inventory valuation, PA production order, ES opening balance and BC closing balance.

Multiple occupancy

A code does not always stand for exactly one type of document. RE indicates the original invoice, the original invoice with payment, and the initial advance payment. BE applies to the incoming invoice, the initial advance payment, and the internal invoice. DT stands for both the sales invoice and the purchase invoice. SI indicates the incoming goods and the incoming production, and SO indicates the outgoing goods and the output for production.

Demarcation

The voucher code only identifies the type of voucher from which a booking originates. The entry Journal bookings (SAP Business One) and Journal (SAP Business One) handle the booking itself. The entry Voucher chain (SAP Business One) describes the relationship between successive vouchers.
