Format mapping (E-Invoice) refers to the translation of the fields from SAP Business One into the XML file of an e-invoice, such as one from XInvoice or a ZUGFeRD invoice.
Which tool takes over the mapping depends on the generator used. In the SAP standard, the Electronic Document Service generates the file. There, the status of the feature pack must be checked. In the Coresuite Designer, activate ZUGFeRD and uses its ZUGFeRD mappings. cks.eINVOICE generates XRechnung and ZUGFeRD and controls the output via custom fields (UDFs). Each generator reads information from other places. In the SAP standard, the buyer reference is, for example, in the customer reference number of the invoice. cks.eINVOICE, on the other hand, reads the leadway ID first from a custom field in the invoice address.
The establishment of electronic records such as Peppol, ZUGFeRD or E-Invoices in SAP Business One are considered a follow-up topic that a consultant should implement.
Limits of data verification
Special cases put the mapping to the test. These include discounts, head discounts across multiple tax rates, and amounts with more than two decimal places. Whether the format mapping correctly translates such cases is only shown by validating a real test invoice. The E-invoice check The Versino Financial Suite checks the data in SAP, not the finished XML file. Therefore, it labels such cases with the „NOTICE“ status indicator and recommends validating a test record.
Demarcation
The format mapping determines how SAP fields are imported into the XML file. The validation then checks the finished file against the rules of the standard EN 16931 and the XRechnung.
