The day on which a transaction is taxable.
The tax rules and regulations in force on that day apply. The Tax date is usually the same as the invoice date, but in some cases can also be the same as the delivery date or the goods receipt date.

The tax date can be stored in various places in SAP Business One:
- Document entry: This is where you set the tax date for individual documents such as invoices or Credits is determined. This date determines the applicable tax rate and the tax allocation to a specific period.
- base dataIn the company master data, a default setting can be defined as to whether the document date or the posting date is used as the tax date by default.
- Posting periodsThe posting periods are used to define the permitted periods for tax postings in order to ensure precise time allocation.
The right Configuration of the tax date is crucial for the accuracy of tax reports and calculations in SAP Business One.
